Here is an ancestral clearing prayer for natural disasters.
Higher Power, God, Holy Father, Divine Mother, Infinite Light, Great Spirit, Oneness, Creator, All That Is – You are known by many names, and You are One. We humbly and gratefully ask You, for us and our ancestors and all their relations, for all space, time, dimensions, realms, lifetimes, and incarnations:
For any and all natural disasters we or any of our relations friends, and members of our community or tribe experienced and for the suffering we went through as a result of it, and for any time we turned away from You because we blamed You – please forgive us and help us all forgive ourselves. Please and thank You.
For all the times we withstood or had relations or other loved ones lost to the forces of driving rain, wind, storm surge, flooding, mudslide, uprooted and fallen trees, rock slide, erosion, earthquake, volcanic eruption, drought, blizzard, tidal wave, fog, dust storms, devastation by fire, or any other impact we felt from Mother Earth, and all that arose in the lineage because of what happened – please help us all to forgive each other and ourselves, and forgive You, Higher Power, for any blame we placed on You. Please and thank You.
For any incident where we witnessed loss of property, resources, or life; for the times we witnessed the horrors of the devastation storms of any kind wrought on us, our community, the land, rivers, and oceans; for the times we saw the fury and fierce force of Nature clear our homeland to the point where we no longer recognized the place as ‘ours’, where we didn’t even know where to start to reclaim our lives and our homes, for all the times we felt we just couldn’t go on, and all the heartache and suffering we carried as a result, and for all that followed through into the rest of our lineage because of what happened – please help us all to forgive each other, forgive ourselves, and forgive You, Higher Power, for any fault we found with you. Please and thank You.
For any time we found ourselves without any resources whatsoever because of storms or other natural disaster, took without asking or leaving recompense, weren’t able to or refused to share what we had left, lost loved ones during such events but never knew what had happened to them, and all the longing and heartache that followed – please help us all to forgive each other, forgive ourselves, and forgive You, Higher Power. Please and thank You.
For the suffering of disease and injury that followed natural disasters, for the times any of us or our loved ones or friends called out for help, but no one came, or they came too late to save us – please help us all to forgive each other and forgive ourselves. Please and thank You.
Please help us to see each other and ourselves through Your eyes. Help us to transmute our negativity and doubt into love and gratitude for each other, ourselves, and You.
