Here is a meditation on soul language:
The soul has a language of its own. It recognizes and communes with the elements. As I walk slowly along the stream, I can feel my spirit commune with the easy breeze rustling the newly fallen leaves. My soul nods at the whispering wind, winks at the soft murmuring waters, and smiles at the laughter of the trees. My soul speaks in tones of recognition… of being at home, so comfortable and at peace… of reveling in the joy of the simple rhythms of nature. The heartbeat. The symphony of pulses synced together, drumming the undertones of life itself.
The sounds of nature commune as song in the language my soul speaks.
They speak to me of letting go. As the wind whooshes through the canopy, the leaves come alive for a moment in the sunlight, and then let go their brief dance, becoming still once more.
They speak to me of forgiveness. Just as the water forgives the rocks in the stream for blocking its passage, then too, the rocks forgive the water for gradually wearing them down.
They speak to me of the eternal moment and of change. Just as water lives in a perpetual cycle, from cloud to rain, stream, river, and ocean, it also tells of constant transformation.
They speak to me of love. The tree branch accepts the bird who lights upon it, no matter the species. The streambed, riverbed, ocean current – these all equally accept a drop of water. Even the highest mountain and lowliest canyon accept the drop of water when and where it lands. No matter where it travels, water finds acceptance in nature, one way or another. How else can Mother Earth show Her love beyond accepting all the elements and creatures equally? Unconditional acceptance – a true, unshakeable measure of love.
The sun and moon shine their light upon us no matter how we show up – both consummate examples of unconditional love.
