This is how to calm yourself from anxiety. These are ways you can ground yourself when you feel shaken and untethered in the world.

  1. Let your breath OUT and breathe slowly, deeply, and evenly.
  2. Look around you.
  3. Find 5 things you can see.
  4. Find 4 things to touch – and touch them.
  5. Find 3 things you can hear – and listen.
  6. Find 2 things you can smell – breathe them in.
  7. Find one thing you can taste – take it in.
