Heal from Chronic Pain – Chronic Pain is NOT a Life Sentence

Overcoming and healing from 59 years of chronic pain and 32 years of addiction to prescribed pain and anti-anxiety medication. That’s my story.

I visited doctor after doctor with the same results: “Here’s a prescription for Meprobamate and Percocet, it should help.”

It didn’t. The pain got worse.

I became hypervigilant, suffered from hyperalgesia (an increased sensitivity to feeling pain and an extreme response to pain), and frequent debilitating panic attacks.

I was dying, inch by inch, cell by cell.  There were days when I sat writhing in pain and thought, I just want to die.

The traditional medical approach led to:

  • My pain getting worse, to the point I was taking two Duragesic (Fentanyl) patches 100mcg/hr, Actiq (Fentanyl) 800mcg 9 doses, and Ativan (Lorazepam) 8mg.  daily
  • A compromised ability to breathe and digest food, so I was not able to take in nourishment
  • Depression and hopelessness
  • Losing friends and family who did not understand what I was going through
  • Not being able to keep a job for long
  • Not being able to walk across the room
  • Standing for only one minute or two at a time
  • My memory was unreliable
  • I had frequent yet unpredictable panic attacks

On September 15, 2015 I met Dr. Peter Przekop.

“Your pain medications may be causing your pain and I can help you reset your stress response,” he said. I looked up with raised eyebrows and started to cry. At the time I didn’t understand how he knew so much about what I was going through, but I felt authentically seen and heard for the first time by a doctor. I felt such relief. My sense of hopelessness lifted and in its place I felt that I might be able to finally get off the medications and end my suffering.

I healed with the help of that doctor.  I live a thriving life.

You can, too.

If you are already suffering, please know, there’s hope. You do not have to go through one more day like this. I will teach you the tools to heal from chronic pain and live a magnificent life – without pharmaceuticals.
